The Okanagan Valley is known to have some of the longest MRI wait times in British Columbia. So it was great news when Vernon’s Jubilee Hospital was finally going to get its own MRI unit to serve the North Okanagan and eliminate the drive to Kelowna.
However, the rooftop components associated with the new MRI unit were going to create unwanted noise that would disturb the nearby operating rooms and a lightweight and easy-to-install solution was needed. AIL Sound Walls supplied a Silent Protector (Absorptive) enclosure to mitigate the unwanted noise. Our PVC system went together very quickly without the need for roof reinforcement or heavy lifting equipment.
Noise barrier needed custom installation to maintain 24/7 ambulance access
Working within a hospital environment has many challenges and this was no exception, as the site was adjacent to the ambulance bays where access needed to be maintained 24/7.
AIL worked closely with the contractor, Black & McDonald, to ensure the materials arrived in a timely manner and were ready at the staging area before they could be received on site. Black & McDonald did a great job of installing our equipment enclosure without disturbing the flow of ambulance traffic.
