PSE&G is the electrical utility provider for most of New Jersey. They required an effective sound barrier wall solution to mitigate sound and visual impacts on neighbors from their new White Horse switching station in the Trenton area. An AIL Sound Walls solution was selected for the project.

Teamed with EPCM GC Burns & McDonnell on noise barrier wall project
Burns & McDonnell are a major Engineering, Procurement and Construction Management (EPCM) General Contractor (GC) in the energy field and we were stoked to be joining them on this project.
We worked very closely with them, firstly on a very thorough bid review, and then via weekly meetings once we moved into design and fabrication.
Sound barrier wall design altered to accommodate grade changes
Our design was altered to accommodate grade changes along the run of the wall and the need for grounding tabs to be welded to our posts, as per the electrical utility requirements. Our PVC panels are ideal for this type of application, being a non-conductive material. Our PVC sleeve/cap compression fitting post system encapsulates our steel posts, further preventing conduction.
We coordinated engineering and fabrication schedules to meet their timeframe and stored the material for them for a few months when the project was delayed. When they were ready, we facilitated an on-site pre-installation meeting with them.
The project came together quite well and positive feedback was received during and after the install. No complaints have been received from the neighbors since the install.
