When a Scarborough gas station was upgraded to include a convenience store, the owner was looking for a very cost-effective and aesthetically pleasing solution for a sound barrier/perimeter fence. Plus, the wall had to run tight along the property line with the auto repair shop next door. An all-PVC Tuf-Barrier solution from AIL Sound Walls had the right look and fit the budget and the site just perfectly.
Tight site required smaller sound barrier wall and PVC H-Posts
AIL Sound Walls are well-known for their lower installed costs, but they can be even more economical on smaller applications like this one. With heights of only 1 m to 1.8 m, we were able to use our smaller PVC H-Posts instead of one of our larger steel post designs. The result was a very smart-looking and low-cost sound barrier wall that will far outlast wood or concrete systems.
Easy post and panel installation
This all-PVC solution features faster supply of components and an easier post and panel installation. And a lighter wall means smaller footings that were perfect for a tight site like this one.
This system also allows for easy integration of gates between the H-posts, which came in handy on this project’s two gates. Plus, the low-maintenance panels can be easily replaced if they are ever damaged.
We were able to expedite manufacturing and supply of the materials faster than our steel post systems, so installation could begin within three to four weeks of receiving the order. We worked closely with the contractor to ensure all went well and the installation crew, neighbors and owners were all very happy with the result.
