A noise issue surfaced soon after the opening of a new big box store in Leesburg, Virginia. Noise from idling trucks was bouncing off the CMU block walls in the loading area and impacting nearby residents. A lightweight wall-clad solution was needed to rectify the situation.
A wall-mounted solution from AIL Sound Walls was selected. We’re seeing more and more clad applications like this of late — where our Silent Protector panels absorb unwanted noise that was previously amplified by surrounding concrete or CMU block walls.
We collaborated closely with Acoustical Solutions, our installation partner on the project, to ensure all requirements were met on time and on budget.
Integration of noise barrier into concrete block walls required custom mounting brackets
This project had a few intricacies. We had to design a custom bracket to attach the sound barrier to the existing CMU block walls. We also had to adjust the wall dimensions once we got into the design phase in order to meet the acoustic requirements.
Very positive feedback from Acoustical Solutions and the owner confirm that the neighbors are glad the loading area was clad with Silent Protector (Absorptive) panels from AIL Sound Walls.
